![]() How We Are Helping the Community Over the past month, our organization has made significant strides in supporting chronically homeless individuals as well as fire-affected communities. We’ve ramped up our distribution of essential supplies such as clothing, hygiene products, blankets, water, snack foods, and shoes. These supplies have reached over 25 organizations helping those directly impacted by the recent fires including Hollywood Food Coalition, LA Strong Foundation, My Friend’s Place, Safe Place for Youth, SCHARP, The Center in Hollywood. Our work in fire relief has been extensive, and we continue to expand our services to ensure those in need receive the support they deserve. In addition to fire relief, we’ve continued our direct services in Central Hollywood, where we’re providing those in need with access to clean clothes, hygiene essentials, blankets, water, shoes and snack foods. Our warehouse is now also open indefinitely for individuals and families in need to directly access these essential items. However, the demand is overwhelming. Currently, we have a waitlist of 75 organizations spread across 95 locations in the Los Angeles area, all requesting clothing and hygiene essentials from us on an ongoing basis. This highlights the urgent need for continued support, and we need your help to meet this rising demand. To maintain the level of service we’re providing, we need monetary donations, volunteers, and essential items, including granola bars, travel-size toiletries, non-electric razors, men’s sneakers and new adult-size socks and underwear. We also urgently require 22″x16″x14″ boxes, packing tape, gallon-size Ziploc bags, and 6 ft. folding tables to help with packaging and distribution. Our expenses have risen significantly, as our staff are working longer hours, using more supplies, and increasing the number of deliveries across Los Angeles. Your support is crucial for us to continue this work and expand our reach. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and partners. A heartfelt thank you goes to Airtable, SeatGeek, The Ridwell Community, The Robert Nelson Foundation, The People-People-People Foundation, and The William C. Bannerman Foundation for stepping up withfunding during this challenging time. Your support has been indispensable in keeping our operations going, and we couldn’t continue our mission without you. Thank you for making an incredible difference in the lives of those we serve. Despite its importance, clothing is not currently classified as an essential service by the government, which often limits access to necessary items for those in need. This lack of recognition means that many homeless individuals face additional challenges in meeting basic needs. We are asking people to sign our petition to advocate for the inclusion of clothing as a critical resource in homelessness support, ensuring that those who are already struggling have access to this vital necessity.
